- programs, activities, and events (including those delivered by the community and Town)
- operations (such as policy development, staffing, communication, etc.)
- financial and implementation strategies
The Master Plan will be an actionable, working document that can readily adapt to changes in community values and address emerging trends. It will assist the Town and stakeholders in making strategic investments to ensure a healthy community, improve residents' quality of life, and encourage a strong economy and sustainable environment.
The Master Plan project launches in August 2022 and is targeted for completion in early 2023.
Recreation, Culture and Parks Define our Quality of Life
Recreation, Culture and Parks opportunities provide extensive benefits to individuals and communities.
For example, they:
- enhance mental and physical wellbeing
- enhance social wellbeing and promote engagement and inclusion
- help build strong families and communities
- help people connect with nature
- help people develop critical and creative thinking skills
- contribute to healthy environments and help us achieve our climate goals
- provide wide-ranging economic benefits
Have your say in where you play!
Community consultation is critical to creating a plan that responds to local needs. The engagement program will consist of several events and opportunities to gather input from residents, volunteer groups and other local stakeholders.
Please provide your input in one or more of the following ways:
- Attend the pop-up consultation on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Pelham Summer Chill Event in Peace Park in downtown Fonthill from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is one of the ways to share more about your local needs and priorities.
- Complete the Community Survey. HERE The survey has been extended until October 30, 2022.
- Submit Written Comments by e-mail to inbox@pelham.ca during the project.
Additional public and stakeholder sessions will be held in the Fall and Winter.
